The best way to spend time with a Houstonian (and learn about Houston) is to schedule a visit with one of our 70 Houston Greeter Volunteers. Our greeters are up for just about anything!
· An activity – jogging, golf or biking, to name a few
· An excursion – see the city’s architecture, downtown Houston’s 7½ mile tunnel system or one of the city’s extraordinary museums
· An outing – take in an Astros game, attend the opera, visit a working farm or explore the city’s music scene
· A conversation – learn about the Livestock Show and Rodeo, Houston’s history or literary

The Houston Greeter service is free (no tipping, but a donation to the organization is always appreciated!). Both the visitor and Greeter bear individual costs, if applicable. Public transportation is available in almost all instances. If the visitor wishes to take a taxi or personal transportation, the Greeter will meet the visitor at the appointed location.
Individuals and groups of six or fewer people may register online or by calling 713.GREETER (713.473.3837).
Once the visit is confirmed, your Greeter will contact you to plan meeting arrangements. A confirmation number will be provided, and the Greeter will arrive with an identifying badge and business card. Evaluation forms are provided after the visit so that we can serve future visitors – your friends, perhaps! – in the best way possible.
