About Us
Houston Greeters is a free service that pairs visitors, newcomers and even local residents with volunteers who are excited about showing off the Bayou City. Visitors see Houston from a local perspective because our Greeters are enthusiastic Houston-area volunteers, not professional tour guides. Greeters speak many languages and welcome opportunities for visitors to practice their English.
Established in 2006, the program is part of the Global Greeter Network, with similar programs including New York, Chicago, Toronto, Fairbanks, Buenos Aires, Melbourne and others.
Why Houston Greeters? In a word - it's fun! We have lots of energy and lots of knowledge. We are the ideal group visitors turn to when they want to know Houston!
